I’m Nahidh Naseem, a 15-year-old entrepreneur from Trinity College Kandy and founder of Agriconnect — a venture born out of a mission to make agriculture smarter, more sustainable, and profitable.
As part of the Technopreneurship Club, I lead youth-driven innovation projects that connect technology with Sri Lanka’s real-world challenges — from farms to flight systems.
Agriconnect is an agri-tech platform designed to help farmers decide what crops to grow and when to grow them — combining data analytics, weather insights, and predictive modeling.
We are tackling three major pain points:
Our solution: a digital decision-support tool backed by IoT sensors and regional weather intelligence, helping farmers reduce losses and increase profitability.
Our IoT hardware research, originally developed as Project Axis II, explores how sensor-based systems can collect real-time environmental data. These systems are being adapted for smart farming, enabling Agriconnect to integrate on-ground data from soil and climate sensors directly into farmer dashboards.
What began as a prototype for flight telemetry is now evolving into a core component of precision agriculture in Sri Lanka.

To make Sri Lanka a regional leader in sustainable agri-tech innovation, starting with locally built, youth-driven solutions.
“We believe rural empowerment begins with data — turning every farmer into a decision-maker.”
Agriculture employs over 25% of Sri Lanka’s workforce, yet smallholder farmers face losses due to unpredictable weather and market data gaps. Agriconnect bridges that gap by providing real-time crop intelligence and connecting data with policy, sustainability, and entrepreneurship.
Our long-term goal is to build scalable tools that make agriculture profitable, sustainable, and attractive to the next generation.
